Todays Market Update.......BE Carefull

12:26 PM - One can look at buying Ashok Leyland for 6-8 months, if it comes down to Rs 30 or below, says MB Singh, technical analyst, on NDTV Profit. The stock is currently trading at Rs 36.35 on the BSE.

12:20 PM - There is nothing positive for Bharti Airtel in the short to medium term, says Anu Jain, technical advisor, on CNBC-TV18. Unless it does not trade above Rs 892 decisively, it will not gain momentum, she adds. The stock is currently trading at Rs 858.10, up 0.9% on the BSE.

12:13 PM - IOC has support at Rs 470 and resistance at Rs 510, says MB Singh, technical analyst, on NDTV Profit. The stock is currently trading at Rs 468, down 1.5% on the BSE.

12:07 PM - The market is trading close to the day's lows. Sensex is currently at 17,857, down 234 points from the previous close. Nifty is at 5201, down 79 points. CNX Midcap index is down 0.7%, and BSE Smallcap index is down 0.5%. NSE advance-decline ratio is at 5:8.

12:03 PM - If Tata Steel falls below Rs 680, then it can fall further, says Sachin Chavhan, technical analyst, on CNBC Awaaz. To buy into this counter, wait till the market stabilises, he suggests. It is currently trading at Rs 734, up 2.5% on the BSE.

11:56 AM - Angel Broking recommends Orchid Chemicals with a target price of Rs 300, reports CNBC Awaaz. The stock is currently trading at Rs 248, up over 2% on the BSE.

11:48 AM - A cut in interest rates is expected in the next quarter and this may boost real estate stocks going forward, says PK Agarwal of Bonanza Portfolio, on Zee Business. Ansal Housing can easily go up to Rs 300, he adds. The stock is currently trading at Rs 227, down 4.3% on the BSE.

11:41 AM - Union Bank has a target price of Rs 240, says Ashwani Gujral, technical analyst, on CNBC-TV18. The stock has support at Rs 193, he adds. It is currently trading at Rs 204.70, up 1.3% on the BSE.

11:33 AM - Rajesh Exports is certainly a long term hold, says PK Agarwal of Bonanza Portfolio, on Zee Business. The stock is currently trading at Rs 144.80, up 2.4% on the BSE.

11:26 AM - The market will remain mostly rangebound as it is a result-heavy day today, says Sharmila Joshi of Prabhudas Lilladher Securities, on CNBC-TV18. But the market may witness volatility tomorrow, following the Fed's decision on interest rates, she adds.

11:19 AM - The market is still trading lower. Sensex is at 17,994, down 97 points from the previous close. Nifty is at 5244, down 36 points. Metal stocks are seeing significant buying interest. Market breadth is weak with 463 advances against 691 declines on the NSE.

11:17 AM - Banking stocks may probably sell for a couple of days, but it still remains very strong, says Ashwani Gujral, technical analyst, on CNBC-TV18. So get back into these PSU banks, on all declines, he suggests.

11:10 AM - Bank of India can touch Rs 460-465, says Ashwnai Gujral, technical analyst, on CNBC-TV18. The stock has support around Rs 350-360, he adds. It is currently trading at Rs 375.75, down 1.4% on the BSE.

11:04 AM - HDFC Securities recommends Tata Steel with a target price of Rs 1,038, reports CNBC Awaaz. The stock is currently trading at Rs 730.40, up 2% on the BSE.

10:56 AM - DLF has announced its third quarter numbers. The companyhas posted consolidated third quarter net profit of Rs 2145 crore versus Rs 2018.6 crore, reports CNBC-TV18. Net sales for Q3 is at Rs 3,598.4 crore versus Rs 3,249.9 crore (QoQ). Operating profit margin stands at 69.5% versus 69.7%. The stock is currently trading at Rs 893.95, up 1.2% on the BSE.

10:46 AM - Bharti Airtel has declared its third quarter results. The company's Q3 net profit is up at Rs 1,722 crore versus Rs 1,614 crore, QoQ (US GAAP), reports CNBC-TV18. Q3 net sales stands at Rs Rs 6,964 crore versus Rs 6,337 crore. OPM is at 42.6%. Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) is at Rs 358 versus Rs 366. the stock is currently trading up over 1% at Rs 859 on the BSE.

10:37 AM - Bharti Airtel seems to have topped out, says PK Agarwal of Bonanza Portfolio, on Zee Business. It has broken major support levels and therefore, if on any rally, it comes to Rs 880-900, one should look at exiting the stock, he suggests. It will take a long time to resume an uptrend now, he adds. It is currently trading at Rs 857, up 0.8% on the BSE.

10:28 AM - The market is trading in the negative terrain, though off the day's lows. Sensex is currently trading at 18,009, down 82 points from the previous close. Nifty is at 5248, down 32 points. CNX Midcap index is almost flat, while the BSE Smallcap index is down 0.1%. Capital goods and oil&gas stocks are witnessing selling pressure.

10:21 AM - Nalco has ouperformed in the last few months and still looks strong on the charts, says Anil Maghnani, technical analyst, on CNBC Awaaz. So every fall in the stock can be seen as a good trading opportunity, he suggests. It is currently trading at Rs 407.55, down 1.4% on the BSE.

10:13 AM - One should not panic if banking stocks fall, because they still look very strong on charts, says Anil Maghnani, technical analyst, on CNBC Awaaz. Whenever the market falls, say 4900 on the Nifty, then one can focus on SBI, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India and Punjab National Bank, he adds.

10:05 AM - Sugar stocks may not see their earlier highs soon, says Ashwani Gujral, technical analyst, on CNBC-TV18. Bajaj Hindusthan may stay in the range Rs 160-170 and Balrampur Chini in Rs 70-80, he adds. Sugar stocks are not expected to show strength for maybe another 2-3 months, he adds.

9:58 AM - The Nifty seems to be stuck in a range of 5000-5400 now, says Ashwani Gujral, technical analyst, on CNBC-TV18. If it falls to 5000, then one can initiatea buy trade and if, for some reason, it rallies to 5400, then one can maintain short positions, he suggests. But currently, the market looks pretty choppy, he adds.

9:54 AM - The market has opened slightly higher on Wednesday. Sensex is currently at 18,104, up just 12 points from the previous close. Nifty has slipped into the negative terrain, down 16 points at 5264.

9:46 AM and - The market may have a strong opening today and may see 2-sided movement, says an NDTV Profit Poll. Nifty may trade in the range 5225-5360. Stocks to watch today are Cairn India, Bharti AirtelTata Power.
